Wisconsin Bowler Accused of Cheating About Record Sports Bowling Scores

Remember Robert Mushtare? His two disputed 900 series a few years ago?

We now have a new controversy - Kurt Scherr of Racine, Wisc. Claims to have posted Sports League series this summer of 869 and 879. Also shot back-to-back 300's on a non-house shot patter. Both series would be a record high.

But it appears the USBC won't certify them. Looks like they were pre bowled and without witnesses.

Public opinion is coming in at the Midwest PBA Forum (you must be registered at http://www.pba.com/ to view the forums), including comments from well-known pro shop operator Joe Cerar, who is a featured writer for the Bowlers Journal.

After Mushtare's tainted 900's, he did go out and cash in a PBA East Regional at the age of 18, which isn't the easiest thing to do.

But after looking at Scherr's record, with just one 300 and two 800's on house shot conditions, one really has to ask the question:

Really? You got to be kidding me. Scherr's stuff doesn't pass the smell test.
