OK, I did it, time for blogging on Bowling in the 'Loo

Ok, after months of scratching my head and planning how to do this, here it is:

Bowling Hood. An on line site for bowling news and information in St. Louis, Metro East, Missouri, Illinois. Heck, anywhere in the Midwest is good. U.S. too if the stuff isn't dull and boring.

My hats off to Jeff Richgels at the Capital Times in Madison, Wi. I read his blog to get a feel for what I wanted to do. Jeff does a helluva job with it. Helluva bowler too. To read his stuff, go here:

I've been a long time blogger in the Midwest Region forum of the PBA. We have a fun time in that room. You gotta register to look and write:

Me, I'm a lot better writer and promoter than a bowler. Been doing it for 35 years. News, sports, business, public relations, marketing, radio, TV, newspaper, yeah, I've been somewhat of a nomad.

But I'm here in St. Louis where I grew up. For a long time, a great bowling town, in the days of Weber, Carter, Bluth, Hennessey, etc. It's still a good bowling town but I believe anything can be better. Hopefully my blog will help.

In the past few months, I've gotten more involved with things other than throwing a ball. Attended a Greater St. Louis USBC meeting and didn't fall asleep. Got elected Vice President of my PBA league at Brunswick Four Seasons. Joe Biden is NOT my idol. Was just elected Corporal-of-Arms for the 700 Metro East Men's Bowling Club. No, I don't get a sword or a gun. That wouldn't be a good idea the way I can fry on the lanes.

BTW, the 700 club in Metro East is a helluva organization. Money is raised throughout the year for high school bowling programs. That's why most of us are members and bowl. We have about 10 tournaments a year, they're fun, handicap, brackets, all good stuff. Plus, you get a shirt, woo hoo! You should join.

Their website is: http://www.metroeastmens700club.org/

There are a couple of other tournament groups in the region. I'm sending them invites for them to directly post messages here in the 'Hood about upcoming tournaments:

Gran Prix Tours (regular and seniors): www.granprixtours.com
Roll For The Dough: http://nattielite8503.wordpress.com

Coming soon: My official website: www.bowlinghood.com. It will be up and running by Labor Day.

In the meantime, tell your friends and come on in to the 'Hood.
